Q: Does TEC have a breakfast program?

A: There is a breakfast program here at TEC.  It is available on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, situated in the cafeteria, it is open to all students.  We are always looking for volunteers, if you are interested in volunteering please contact the office.

Q: Where can I find out about my child's homework?

A: Strait-Up for Parents is the homework website.  Find your child's teacher, click on their name and a list of current homework and assignments will be listed.

Q: When can I drop my child off at school?

A: Children can be dropped off anytime between 8:00 am and should be picked up by 2:30 pm, as these are the times that staff provide supervision of students. You may also want to consult the Bell Schedule attached here.

Q: Are you looking for an after school program for your child?

A: The YMCA of Cape Breton offers a quality after school program out of the Tamarac Education Centre.  The program is designed to offer children in grades primary to grade 6 the opportunity to build positive relationships in a fun, safe and supportive environment.  The program is based on the children's interests, encompassing activities such as crafts, sports, cooperative games, special events and outdoor activities under the supervision of trained YMCA staff.  After school programs provide care on in-service days and winter breaks.  Applications for the after school program are available at the YMCA of Cape Breton, Port Hawkesbury branch, year round.  If you'd like more information about registration and monthly tuition, visit the website or phone 902-625-4600. 

Q: How can I get on the parent portal?

A: If you have not yet received your access code and password for the Parent Portal send an e-mail request to suzanne.delaney@srsb.ca. You will receive an e-mail that will include your access code and password.
